Ryan McCollum is an internationally experienced fishing guide, outfitter, and global angling consultant with a lifelong passion for the sport. Having been on the water since he could walk, fishing is not just his profession—it is the foundation of who he is.
Ryan has guided professionally in Alaska, Bolivia, Mexico, and across the United States, gaining hands-on experience in some of the most diverse and demanding fisheries in the world. His background spans remote wilderness float trips, high-volume lodge operations, and exclusive, custom-tailored fishing experiences for discerning clients.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, Ryan operates seamlessly across international destinations, allowing him to work directly with local guides, outfitters, and landowners throughout Latin America. This bilingual advantage ensures a higher level of coordination, authenticity, and access that most outfitters simply cannot offer.
His personal fishing resume is equally extensive. Ryan has fished waters throughout Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Costa Rica, Mexico, and North America, targeting premier species such as golden dorado, tarpon, trout, snook, peacock bass, and billfish. This firsthand experience allows him to design trips based on real knowledge—not secondhand information.
Ryan attended a professional fly fishing guide school in Montana and later became an Orvis-endorsed fly fishing guide in Alaska, one of the most respected distinctions in the industry. He has also worked within Orvis fly shops, giving him advanced expertise in gear selection, fly patterns, and technical angling strategy.
Today, Ryan is the founder of Worldwide Fishing Destinations, where he personally hosts and curates high-end fishing trips around the globe. He is especially active in the Yucatán Peninsula, where he regularly leads and hosts cast and blast adventures, combining world-class fishing with wingshooting opportunities for a truly unique outdoor experience.

Since then and for the last ten years Rubin has staged a strategic retreat to the flats of the Caribbean. He understands “dirtbag luxury”—the soul-satisfying grit of a long day on the water followed by a cold drink and a campfire. Yet he equally appreciates the nuances of 5-star accommodations and high-end service. This duality allows him to bridge the gap between a hardcore fishing mission and a high-end vacation.
